The 2013 JMM Prize

The automatic extractor of parachute was polished up over the years to arrive at a miniaturization, a simplification and an efficiency which brings back quite naturally the 2013 JMM Prize to his inventors, Norbert Barboux and Hubert Christian.
Let us imagine that while you are flying, you are undergoing an incident of flight and that, therefore, you lose height. According to the regulations made before the flight, you are warned by an alarm that your reserve is going to eject in "x" seconds.

If you prefer to try to manage by yourself or if you think that the place is not adequate to release your reserve, you disarm the device by a simple push with the finger on the handle which you have in the hand. If the incident goes on, the system rearms by itself, etc.

If you just want to do some acrobatic session, you disarm easily the device.

You will congratulate yourself being equipped with it in the following cases:

Because of the acceleration, you lost consciousness, or you do not physically succeed in pulling the handle of the reserve, or still, you do not find it…
You are too low so that the manual extraction saves the day to you. The automatic extraction is effective from 30 meters / grounds.

It is proved true that a good many of serious accidents, even fatal, are due to these circumstances.

Immediately the reserve is released a S.O.S is sent on the mobile of 5 persons of your choice, with your localization on Google Earth.

The whole stuff weighs 500 grams...

France Bleu and the Jean-Marc Mouligné Prize !

It is an interview in laborious English, certainly, but that has the merit of having already generated numerous very interesting contacts for the collection...

Thanks to Andy Pag, of XC Country magazine, we found new destinations for the equipment. Besides Cuba, Madagascar, Morocco, here we are at the moment heading for Honduras and Nepal.

We are now in search of captains, co-pilots or stewards (ess) having flights towards these destinations and wishing to bring us their support to transport the paragliding equipment (and only that !)

The Circle was at the Icare Cup

Where is the only place in the world where independent inventors display flying, pretty, poetic, original and useful objects ? The Icare Cup of course !

It is there that the Circle has found the first winner of the JMM Prize. This 1000 euros prize is awarded to a flying invention both poet and innovative.

This year we fell in love with the electric paramotor "Air Lab" of Christophe Tumson and his team. "Air Lab" is also the story of three pals at the back end of a garage, Christophe, Mathieu and Didier. Creativity, talent and friendhip. Ideal Prize Winner for the JM Mouligné Prize.

Huge thanks to the Icare cup team for its welcoming and its commitment.

The Tura’s homage

The papered balloons rising up in the sky in the way of "Montgolfières" are a real passion
for Brazilians, related in Etienne Chambolle’s beautiful movie "les Pirates de Rio". They build them clandestinely in their cellar : the balloons are forbidden in Brazil and the "Baloeiros" liable to go to jail.

At the Icare Cup, on the other hand, they have become essential, indispensable, bubbles of pure poetry we could not live without. Last year, with the audience's help, Tura sent 2000 balloons flying into the sky.
Here is what Jean-Marc said about this event : "When I saw the river of fire of Tura's balloons spreading into the night of St Hilaire, I wished at once that I could bathe in it.."

This year Tura has honored his friend by launching a solar balloon bearing the words "SALUT JEAN-MARC".

- The Band Kombo Clan Destino wrote a song called "La Nueva Libertad", an homage to jean-Marc in memory of their musical adventure around the barrel organs

- Patrick O'Connor, a base-jumper friend, is presently creating a striking bust of JMM.

June the 30th 2007, Jean-Marc Mouligné died when he was doing a base-jump in the Verdon's Canyon in the South of France.
